What is burnbag.app?
Burnbag is a privacy-first microblogging platform where posts self-destruct after a chosen time period. It is designed to be a safe and respectful place to share information and have respectful dialogue.
Our goal is reduce user tracking, algorithmic feeds, and protect users and their messages. What you say has value, and should be respected. You are not your content, your data, or your digital footprint.
Burnbag is in BETA stage and is still under development. This means that the platform is not yet fully functional and may not be stable. You may, and almost certainly will, encounter bugs and issues. Posts, images and links may suddenly disapear. Don't be alarmed, it's usally because we screwed up. Features may suddenly appear, disapear, change or become emotionally unavailable. Again, it's not you, it's us. You can always yell at us, praise us, laugh at us, request features, report bugs or just say hi by creating a post and using #burnbag.
How it works
- • Write posts up to 300 characters
- • Choose when your post burns (1-48 hours)
- • Use #hashtags to categorize your posts
- • Trust users whose contributions you value
- • When time's up, posts are permanently deleted
Community Rules
Allowed
- ✓ News, research, and reporting links
- ✓ Security alerts and breach notifications
- ✓ Respectful political discussion
- ✓ Personal experiences shared responsibly
- ✓ Time-sensitive observations and advice
Not Allowed
- ✗ Sexual or pornographic content
- ✗ Harassment, threats, or intimidation
- ✗ Hate speech or dehumanization
- ✗ Doxxing or targeting private individuals
- ✗ Criminal coordination or illegal instructions
- ✗ Spam, scams, or manipulation
Trust System
Instead of likes, burnbag has trust. When you trust someone, you're saying their contributions are valuable. Trust applies to the user, not individual posts. Your Trust Score reflects community confidence.
Privacy
We don't track you. No third-party ad trackers, no data resale, no behavioral profiling. When posts expire, they're gone forever.
